The HSE state that:
By law, as an employer, you must assess and identify measures to eliminate or reduce risks from exposure to hand-arm vibration so that you can protect your employees from risks to their health.
Where the risks are low, the actions you take may be simple and inexpensive, but where the risks are high, you should manage them using a prioritised action plan to control exposure to hand-arm vibration.
Vibration levels on existing tooling will change as parts wear and loosen. As part of reducing risk to the operator an annual vibration check should be undertaken to assess the true vibration level of tooling. This can either be onsite or at our in house workshops. For companies with larger tool fleets we can offer a site survey to ascertain the best and most economical way to undertake the testing.
We offer a bespoke tagging service which includes the relevant information for your engineer, including H.A.V level (this is for new products using manufacturers data) PPH (points per hour) and usage times to both (EAV &ELV). The tags can be branded with your own logo and any other additional information required.
PAT testing (portable appliance testing) is a legal obligation for all employers and sub contractors to have their equipment tested and checked for safe use
